STAY INFORMED !

U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)

The easiest way to stay informed on FERC actions regarding hydropower issues is to search the FERC's records information retrieval system (eLibrary), which allows the user to search docket sheets by docket number or tailor a general or advanced docket sheet search.

The Docket Number consists of the letter "p", a dash and the project number:

P - project number

(If you don't know the project number, click here to find it on DWR's dam sheets ;

or,

Click here to access the FERC's hydropower spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel (.xls)) for:
Licenses; Exemptions; and  Preliminary Permts;.

Click here to access FERC's eLibrary help page.

Another way to participate in FERC proceedings is to achieve intervenor status. Anyone can file a protest or letter of support with the FERC, but, intervenors are official parties to proceedings and have distinct advantages, including legal standing in the courts. Those parties granted intervenor status also receive all relevent filings regarding a project from FERC, the project applicant and other intervenors.

Click here to find out if and how to apply for intervenor status.

Click here to go to "Docket Sheets and Service Lists" page. In the sidebar, click on "Service LIsts" and enter the docket number to list intervenors, the project applicant and interested FERC employees ("the service list") for a particular project. (As mentioned above, enter the Docket Number as follows: P- project number.)

Click here to find out how to communicate with FERC.

It is now possible to use electronic mail to file documents--eFiling--with the FERC. Click here to learn how to submit documents electronically with the FERC.
