RRBROM INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Version 2.0 12/13/95 The Roanoke River Basin Reservoir Operations Model (RRBROM) is a simulation/optimization model of the major impoundments on the Roanoke River. It operates on a daily, weekly, or monthly timestep and runs in 32-bit mode under Windows 3.1 and 3.11 and under Windows 95. OS/2 Warp does not support the version of the Wins32s package required to run RRBROM. It is our understanding that IBM is currently working on a maintenance release that should remedy this situation and permit RRBROM to be run under OS/2. The minimum recommended system configuration is a 486-class PC with 8 MB of RAM and at least 20 MB of free hard disk space. Because the program runs in 32-bit mode, the Win32s add-on package to Windows is required. This feature may or may not already be on your computer. Instructions are provided below for both situations. If you are not sure whether you computer is configured with Win32s, we suggest that you first install only the model (RRBROM) and try to run it. If you get an error message saying that Win32s is required, simply follow the instructions in Step 1. You will not need to re-install the model after installing the Win32s subsystem. 1. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE WIN32S ON YOUR COMPUTER, follow these instructions. NOTE: The Win32s installation program will copy the following files to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory. In the event that you ever want to uninstall the Win32s feature, you should determine prior to installation whether any of these files are already in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory. If so, make sure that you do not erase them when uninstalling the program. BIVBX11. 32S 40,960 04-21-95 4:51a BIVBX11. DLL 81,920 04-21-95 4:51a BIVBX11S.DLL 18,944 04-21-95 4:51a BWCC32.
