Title: North Carolina Ground Water Monitoring Wells

Abstract: Detailed information about ground water research station wells from
EHNR and USGS data bases is recorded. Data base
includes construction information and historical water levels for
EHNR and USGS wells in North Carolina.
Purpose: Ground Water Wells have been gathered together from
various sources including the USGS and several sources within the NC
Department of EHNR to allow more professionals outside government
circles access to important hydrogeological information. Access to the digital
version of this data will foster rapid educational growth and
encourage professional discussions. Research station wells are
monitored for water levels to gauge the reaction of aquifers to
weather patterns or natural stresses and human induced stresses such as
pumping.
