Environmental Review and Environmental Assessments

The State Environmental Policy Act may require that an Environmental Assessment or Environmental Impact Statement be developed for a project:

• Overview of SEPA
  • This overview has been prepared by the Division of Water Quality. The overview is general enough to apply to the Public Water Supply Section. Specific SEPA requirements may differ between programs.
• SEPA detailed guidance
• State Environmental Review Clearinghouse
  • The State Environmental Clearinghouse is part of the North Carolina Department of Administration. The Department of Administration administers SEPA statewide.
• DENR SEPA regulations
  • DENR has rules and requirements specific to environmental programs under DENR's jurisdiction.
