Additional Information

Has this system participated in regional water supply or water use planning?  Yes, In 2005 the Town of Weldon participated with Halifax County, Northampton County, the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District and surrounding municipalities in a regional water and wastewater study prepared by Hobbs UpChurch. The study did not move forward. The Town of Weldon and Halifax County participated in a joint water treatment plant project. Funding was secured from USDA. Negotiation on an interlocal agreement broke down and the project stalled. Funding was returned to USDA from both parties. The Town of Weldon applied for and received fund for a new water treatment plant. The town is presently negotiating an interlocal agreement with both Halifax and Northampton Counties.
